Crazy Laws That Exist In America #082

Podcast
For all you daredevils out there, you might be bummed to find out that in some states you will not be allowed to drive blindfolded! Sorry to burst your bubbles! In fact, there are a whole bunch of crazy laws that you can find in America. In this episode I share a few of them that I found on the internet. While some are really common sense, some leave me scratching my head...like the one about a donkey and a bathtub. Listen in to hear all about that one! Car Shops And The Lies They Tell #081

Podcast
I recently got my car inspected at the same shop I usually go to for repairs, inspections and oil changes. Last year at this time I was told I needed about $800 worth of work to be done, but it wasn't necessary to pass inspection. This time around there wasn't a mention about any of it! Has this happened to you? Car shops seem to be finding ways to get every extra dollar out of our pockets, and we seem to fall for it! Why does that happen? Are there honest mechanics out there that will give us a fair shake? If you know where I'm coming from, then this episode is for you! Wendy’s Employee of 20 Years Fired #080

Podcast
There was a recent article explaining how a Wendy's employee of more than 20 years, who happened to have Down's Syndrome, was unceremoniously fired by a manager because she wanted the employee to do additional duties that he couldn't do. So basically, a good, reliable worker lost his job because of his disability. Now maybe that's an oversimplification, but I can tell you that this whole situation reeks of disrespect, poor judgement, and a lack of leadership on the part of the manager. Listen in to this episode and see if you agree with me, or if you think this situation was handled fairly. To listen to my other episodes, click here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Ambulance Chasers #079

Podcast
When I was driving recently, a new pet peeve popped up. An ambulance was speeding by, so like any responsible driver I pulled over. Only to be passed by the ambulance and 2 more regular cars taking advantage of the open lane! Listen in as I get into how I feel about these kinds of "ambulance chasers" of sorts, and maybe you'll even agree, lol! Missed an episode? Solo Board Gaming #078

Podcast
I recently found out that there is a whole community out there of solo board gamers. This is not a new concept, people have always played board games solo, but usually you have to change the rules, and something is lost in translation when you do. Apparently, there are board games created with solo gamers in mind. They are designed for 1+ players, allowing for a single player to get the full experience of the plot, characters and there is no need to bend the rules. I just discovered this community and these games and I talk a little bit about it in this episode! Listen to past episodes here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Bachelorette Get-Aways Are A Thing Now #077

Podcast
Apparently, having a destination Bachelorette get-away is a big thing now. It's a popular vacay that's usually a week long, involving the bridesmaids and the bride. How come? It seems like that is super expensive and totally unnecessary! And some brides will cut you out of the wedding if you don't attend the bachelorette! This week a chat a little bit about this, and as you can guess, it's not at the top of my favorite things to do list, lol! The End of an Era-Queen Elizabeth II #076

Podcast
Although we all knew it was inevitable, I think for many it's still sad news to hear that Queen Elizabeth II has died. The topic of death is never easy, so hers is also difficult for many of her subjects and her family. However, being that the UK has a constitutional Monarchy, the death of a Queen means the ascension of a King. King Charles III to be exact. Being American, I don't know if I support a monarchy as an institution, but as a military veteran, I am drawn to the pomp and circumstance of it all. What do you think? Is it time for the Monarchy to end, and along with it a brutal history? Or is there room in modern civilization for one more King? It's a…

Some of them are really surprising, and one still has me scratching my head!  Listen to all past episodes here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Are You Talking To Me? #074

Podcast
This week I am back with another pet peeve of mine. Some of you might be able to relate to it, and some of you extroverts will not be able to understand what the big deal is! I get it, but I still don't care. I just don't get why people like to talk to other people they don't know! Why are you talking to me if I'm a stranger to you? Listen in on this episode to hear why it irks me so much, then leave a comment and let me know if you agree! Click here to listen to all my past episodes! https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Podcast
I first spoke about the Mandela Effect a few episodes ago. Apparently this phenomenon keeps happening and I have new examples to share!
