For all you daredevils out there, you might be bummed to find out that in some states you will not be allowed to drive blindfolded! Sorry to burst your bubbles! In fact, there are a whole bunch of crazy laws that you can find in America. In this episode I share a few of them that I found on the internet.  I recently got my car inspected at the same shop I usually go to for repairs, inspections and oil changes. Last year at this time I was told I needed about $800 worth of work to be done, but it wasn't necessary to pass inspection. This time around there wasn't a mention about any of it! Has this happened to you? Car shops seem to be finding ways to get every extra dollar out of our pockets, and we seem to fall for it! Why does that happen? There was a recent article explaining how a Wendy's employee of more than 20 years, who happened to have Down's Syndrome, was unceremoniously fired by a manager because she wanted the employee to do additional duties that he couldn't do. So basically, a good, reliable worker lost his job because of his disability. Now maybe that's an oversimplification, but I can tell you that this whole situation reeks of disrespect, poor judgement, and a lack of leadership on the part of the manager. When I was driving recently, a new pet peeve popped up. An ambulance was speeding by, so like any responsible driver I pulled over. Only to be passed by the ambulance and 2 more regular cars taking advantage of the open lane!  I recently found out that there is a whole community out there of solo board gamers. This is not a new concept, people have always played board games solo, but usually you have to change the rules, and something is lost in translation when you do. Apparently, there are board games created with solo gamers in mind. They are designed for 1+ players, allowing for a single player to get the full experience of the plot, characters and there is no need to bend the rules. Apparently, having a destination Bachelorette get-away is a big thing now. It's a popular vacay that's usually a week long, involving the bridesmaids and the bride. How come? It seems like that is super expensive and totally unnecessary! And some brides will cut you out of the wedding if you don't attend the bachelorette!  Although we all knew it was inevitable, I think for many it's still sad news to hear that Queen Elizabeth II has died. The topic of death is never easy, so hers is also difficult for many of her subjects and her family. However, being that the UK has a constitutional Monarchy, the death of a Queen means the ascension of a King. King Charles III to be exact. Being American, I don't know if I support a monarchy as an institution, but as a military veteran, I am drawn to the pomp and circumstance of it all. What do you think? I recently came across a sport I had never heard of, Disc Golf. It's different and interesting, and apparently it's been around for a long time. Which made me wonder what other unique professional sporting events were happening out in the world on a daily basis. In this episode I explore a few unusual professional sports.
