Recently I read a little article on Reddit about how a woman asked her nanny to miss a family wedding, then basically issued an ultimatum when the nanny said no. I couldn't believe what I was reading! There's just so much to unpack here, but seriously, she should miss the wedding to babysit? And she had been given the time off too! On Youtube there are many trends and videos that are interesting, exciting and adventurous. But mukbangs don't fall in any of those categories for me! I came across the trend recently, and let me say I can definitely take a hard pass on mukbangs! It's just not an appealing way for me to spend my onscreen time on. Warning: I will be talking about highly sensitive crimes involving minors, although I do not go into specifics. There is a recent documentary about Jimmy Savile, a British entertainer and celebrity, who after his death was found to have committed pretty horrible crimes. But there had been rumors for years about his behavior. Why wasn't he stopped sooner? In this episode I discuss how it seems that being a celebrity often means you can get away with crime. A nurse, RaDonda Vaught was recently convicted of Negligent Homicide for making a terrible medication error that lead to a patient's death in 2017. There is a lot of controversy over the fact that she was even prosecuted in the first place. Many nurses feel that this case sets a bad precedent. Errors happen because we are human, now they have to think twice before they can give patients the care they need. But is this case really that cut and dry? Or does it point to a healthcare professional who cut one too many corners? Every few years the next Generation creates new terms to express their feelings, thoughts and ideas. These terms are unique to that generation and usually throws the rest of us for a loop! Gen Z is no exception, and their terminology is head-scratching at times! Well I guess they wouldn't think so, but since this is my podcast, we'll go with my description! This past Sunday was the Oscars. And even if you didn't watch them yourself, you have probably heard about The Slap! On live television, Will Smith, an actor who was nominated for an Oscar and actually won later in the night, got up on stage and slapped Chris Rock, a comedian, in the face. All of this started because Chris Rock made a controversial joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will's wife. This has opened up a lot of debate that falls on both sides. Recently on the news, Transgender Athlete Lia Thomas one the NCAA swimming championship. And on the front page was a picture of her, a large gap, and three of her competitors standing next to each other and very obviously excluding Thomas. The question of whether or not Transgender female athletes have an unfair advantage is raging through our sports programs and, unfortunately, our legislatures.
