 A group known as the Equal Protection Project has filed a complaint against MSU for disrcriminating against white males. Yes, you read that right. The discrimination was against white males. You see, there was a business booster program of sorts that was only open to people of color or women. So EPP felt that was unfair and illegal. I recently watched a documentary on Max about the Armie Hammer Scandal. It came of a few years ago that he had written some very disturbing texts to women he was involved with, and those have become public. But the real issue is the abuse that he allegedly inflicted on several women.  I recently experienced one of the most frustrating and eye opening things that can happen-I lost my debit card. In the run up to getting a new won, I found out that it isn't so easy to navigate today's society without one. In this episode I talk about my experiences and one of the biggest surpises that came out of this. The moral of the story is...don't lose your debit card, lol! In this episode I have a new pet peeve that is also a phenomenom you may have experienced yourself- when you park in a big empty lot, come back to your car and someone else has parked next to you, leaving all other empty spaces alone! So, I just want to figure out why people don't give me space, or anyone else for that matter. WHy park directly next to me? Apparently there is a growing concept of taking away traditional grading systems in schools and colleges, and replacing them with ungrading. It seems that the idea is to engage the student in feedback generating self-reflection on their progress through courses. Sometimes people get very upset when playing games. So much so, that two people were hurt by a samurai sword in a fight over Monopoly! For some reason, playing games can cause a huge amount of upset. Even the Queen of England banned certain games from being played because of the fighting. In this episode I talk about a couple of examples of taking games too far when players get mad! Two healthcare workers in Florida were recently arrested for live streaming their abuse of an elderly dementia patient. Just reading the article makes me angry, and I find it sad and disgusting that our elderly are still being treated this way. It is also disturbing that our youth think this is ok. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding book banning in Florida, led by Gov. DeSantis. Even more specifically Duval County schools have been removing more than 100 books from its schools following challenges from parents and residents.This type of censorship is extremely disturbing to me. The books being challenged in Duval County are important works of literature that address important social issues, such as racism and war, and encourage critical thinking.
