MSU Accused of Discriminating Against White Males #112

Podcast
A group known as the Equal Protection Project has filed a complaint against MSU for disrcriminating against white males. Yes, you read that right. The discrimination was against white males. You see, there was a business booster program of sorts that was only open to people of color or women. So EPP felt that was unfair and illegal. In this episode, I get into why I feel this complaint is just WRONG on so many levels! You might disagree, but I can't see how. Listen in, leave a comment and see if you change your mind. One thing for sure, you'll know exactly where I stand! Previous episodes can be found here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Ungrading-Yay Or Nay? #106

Podcast
Apparently there is a growing concept of taking away traditional grading systems in schools and colleges, and replacing them with ungrading. It seems that the idea is to engage the student in feedback generating self-reflection on their progress through courses. I don't know much about ungrading, but from what I do know, it doesn't seem viable. Join me in this episode as I explain my thoughts, and feel free to share yours too! Missed an episode? Florida Book Banning #103

Podcast
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding book banning in Florida, led by Gov. DeSantis. Even more specifically Duval County schools have been removing more than 100 books from its schools following challenges from parents and residents. This type of censorship is extremely disturbing to me. The books being challenged in Duval County are important works of literature that address important social issues, such as racism and war, and encourage critical thinking. In this podcast I discuss some of the books that have already been banned, and why I think its a huge leap in the wrong direction. Have you missed an episode?
