I Went To Pax Unplugged #088

Podcast
So this past weekend I attended the Pax Unplugged convention. I was all about tabletop games, hence the unplugged. I have never been to one of these, and I have to say I was impressed! And really, whats better than walking down aisle after aisle of games! It was like the good ol' days of Toys R Us (I feel a tear forming). Sit back and relax while I tell you all about my experience. Then drop a comment and let me know if you've ever been to Pax Unplugged yourself! Want to catch up on all of my episodes? Click here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Post Office Woes #087

Podcast
I have a new pet peeve-the U.S. Postal Service! So over the last few years it seems that we receive our mail less often, packages and letters go missing, and a general mess is left in our mailrooms? If you can relate then this episode is for you! There doesn't seem to be a reason, other than the worker shortages of the pandemic in general, but it's still getting on my nerves. Listen in and see if you agree! Have you missed an episode? You can find them all here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Millions of people are subscribing to streaming services in order to cut ties with more expensive cable and satellite TV.  Only, now streaming services have begun to increase their prices as well. Airplane Seating Etiquette In The Not So Friendly Skies! #085

Podcast
It seems like these days more and more people can't help but behave badly. Especially on airplanes! Now we all know that we should display a certain etiquette when flying, and that includes sitting in your assigned seats. Except, for some people it seems that they feel entitled to sit in YOUR seat! In this episode I talk about the attitude that some people give off on airplanes when you refuse to switch seats with them. You may have encountered this very scenario yourself! Listen in and let me know how you feel about this type of airplane etiquette. Listen to past episodes here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Remakes-Unoriginal Disappointments Or Reimagined Winners? #084

Podcast
There is an ongoing trend in Hollywood to remake successful movies from years past. Sometimes this turns out to be a surefire hit, others a total bomb. It happens with TV shows as well. Is there a problem in Hollywood, where no one has any original ideas anymore? I have to question why some of these movies were made in the first place. As the old saying goes, if it ain't broken, don't fix it! Well, if they weren't broken before, more often than not they certainly end up that way! Listen in and see if you agree with me! Crazy Laws That Exist In America #082

Podcast
For all you daredevils out there, you might be bummed to find out that in some states you will not be allowed to drive blindfolded! Sorry to burst your bubbles! In fact, there are a whole bunch of crazy laws that you can find in America. In this episode I share a few of them that I found on the internet. While some are really common sense, some leave me scratching my head...like the one about a donkey and a bathtub. Listen in to hear all about that one! Car Shops And The Lies They Tell #081

Podcast
I recently got my car inspected at the same shop I usually go to for repairs, inspections and oil changes. Last year at this time I was told I needed about $800 worth of work to be done, but it wasn't necessary to pass inspection. This time around there wasn't a mention about any of it! Has this happened to you? Car shops seem to be finding ways to get every extra dollar out of our pockets, and we seem to fall for it! Why does that happen? Are there honest mechanics out there that will give us a fair shake? If you know where I'm coming from, then this episode is for you! Wendy’s Employee of 20 Years Fired #080

Podcast
There was a recent article explaining how a Wendy's employee of more than 20 years, who happened to have Down's Syndrome, was unceremoniously fired by a manager because she wanted the employee to do additional duties that he couldn't do. So basically, a good, reliable worker lost his job because of his disability. Now maybe that's an oversimplification, but I can tell you that this whole situation reeks of disrespect, poor judgement, and a lack of leadership on the part of the manager. Listen in to this episode and see if you agree with me, or if you think this situation was handled fairly. To listen to my other episodes, click here: https://www.statementsofopinion.com/episodes

Ambulance Chasers #079

Podcast
When I was driving recently, a new pet peeve popped up. An ambulance was speeding by, so like any responsible driver I pulled over. Only to be passed by the ambulance and 2 more regular cars taking advantage of the open lane! Listen in as I get into how I feel about these kinds of "ambulance chasers" of sorts, and maybe you'll even agree, lol! Missed an episode?
