A nurse, RaDonda Vaught was recently convicted of Negligent Homicide for making a terrible medication error that lead to a patient’s death in 2017. There is a lot of controversy over the fact that she was even prosecuted in the first place. Many nurses feel that this case sets a bad precedent. Errors happen because we are human, now they have to think twice before they can give patients the care they need. But is this case really that cut and dry? Or does it point to a healthcare professional who cut one too many corners? In this episode I discuss this case and try to figure out if it was just a terrible mistake, or a clear case of negligent homicide. Maybe you can be the judge.
