Show Notes-Episode #015

Recently there has been a lot of mentions about cancel culture. What is it? To me, it means the way society is ready to “cancel” or dismiss someone when their bad behavior, or negative social media postings come to light. Often that means they get fired, or lose jobs, gigs, or prominent positions.

But one of the things that cancel culture is revealing is the idea that there are no second chances. It seems if we make a mistake, social media pounces and we lose everything. Now, I can’t say that I am always opposed to this. There are certain things, like heinous crimes, that are rightfully leading to some sort of punishment. But for other, smaller transgressions, does the punishment always fit the crime?

In this episode I ask these questions. Because maybe we all really need to look closer and decide if we should forgive and forget. I know there are plenty of things I’ve said in the past that I am grateful have not been recorded for posterity. Because I’d probably be cancelled too! So maybe we need to take it on a case by case basis and consider giving more people a second chance. Especially if their mistakes happened years ago. What do you think. Make sure you listen to my episode, Cancel Culture, then drop a comment and let me know what you think!
