Have you ever watched an operation on TV? Maybe on a TV show Like ER, or real life series like Trauma Life in the ER? I’ve always been drawn to these types of shows, and operations specifically. There used to be a show that actually showed the entire operation, and I couldn’t get enough. In fact, I even became a surgical technologist!
Now my journey to becoming a surgical technologist started way back when I joined the military. When looking through a book with all the jobs I qualified for, I came across operating room tech. And I was hooked! But I didn’t actually train in that job, I chose to become a Cable Dawg (31L-Cable Systems Installer). I know, not even closely related, but it just wasn’t to be. Yet.
In this episode I discuss why I chose to go back to school to become a surgical technologist. I get into the training I received and talk a little about a couple of procedures as well. So fair warning, this episode is NOT for the squeamish!! But I also talk about why I never worked as a surg tech.
If you are fascinated about operations like I am, or are just curious about my journey, then listen in here:
